In my life this week…

I was crazy busy!! Holy moly… Helping my dad clean up a rental of his (Gah, it was nasty)… Spent a day with a friend sewing some bags, and then helped my dad again. End of the week, we got together for a school project, was in a holiday parade, and yesterday my youngest and I went on a trip to a living history museum.

In our homeschool this week…

In school this week, we finished up our 16th week of school, and are taking a week off now. We did a some geography, spelling, math, and grammar. Plus we went to a friends to do a school project. We are mummifying a chicken- to go along with our Egypt study.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Make sure you in cooperate the fun stuff!  We all need a little fun once and awhile.

I am inspired by…

All the people that I follow thru blogs…. they remind me we all can trudge through the tough times.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

This week we are on vacation… and enjoying our down time. We still have extra curricular to attend, but other than that, we will be making lots of cookies for our upcoming cookie decorating party!!

My favorite thing this week was…

The trip to Norland’s with my daughters daisy group. We had a great time!

What’s working/not working for us…

We continue to enjoy our schedule this year, doing 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off. However, this time we are only taking one week off, cause we will take a few days off during the holidays.

Questions/thoughts I have…

What fun things are you studying over the holiday season? We are going to read “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and then watch the movie. Plus a few odds and ends.

Things I’m working on…

Making dozens and dozens of cookies for girl scouts, our holiday party, and 4h. Smile    Then some sewing projects are up next. Gonna make some fleece Pj pants for the family… then hopefully going to knit some hats. You??

I’m reading…  44 Cranberry Lane, by Debbie Macomber. Love the Cedar Cove series. Just finished the Pioneer Woman’s book about how she met her husband. Amazing book!!

I’m cooking… Not sure what is on the menu for today… I haven’t gotten the menu done yet. Oh my!!

I’m grateful for…  My kids, they drive me nuts, but they keep me going, and they are the only ones that love unconditionally!

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

Isn't Norlands great? Did you do the kitchen and school thing? We went with a homeschooling group from HOME last month and had a blast! (We like history so that helps! LOL)

Mummifying a chicken is interesting! LOL Something we've never tried. Will you share how it comes out?

We don't make a lot of cookies this month, but our favorite Christmas goody is peppermint-chocolate fudge! Yum! We'll make that to share with family around Christmas though.

You're actually mummifying the chicken! I've seen that in the SOTW curriculum, but I've never been that brave. You're an intrepid homeschooling mom. :)

We studied Egypt last year. I just could not bring myself to do the chicken. You're brave. Enjoy the season while baking your cookies. We are going to get started on our bakin too. Stopping by from the HMJ.
