Where do we go? By James Weinser Blog Tour:

Where Do We Go Book Cover

Our Thoughts:

My son really loved this booked. He enjoyed the story, and the pictures. The pictures were so bright and cheery, it really made the subject easier to handle. When I asked him if he knew what the book was trying to discuss after he read it… I was very happy to hear that he understood perfectly, and he even told me some of the things he thought it was like after leaving. I was impressed with the book, and recommend it to any family with small kids. To either help ease a loss, or just to help with the discussion. Here are some pictures of my son reading it:

About the Book:

This award winning book, delicately talks about the subject of death and the hereafter. Helping parents with that difficult subject after having to deal with a tragedy. You can learn more about it HERE.

About the Author:

Born in New York City in 1945, James Weinsier was raised on Long Island. He received an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Nassau Community College in 1964, followed by service in the U. S. Navy. Upon completing his tour of duty, he resumed his education at the University of Miami, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He is now retired and lives with his wife, in Fernandina Beach, FL.

In 2006, James experienced the devastating losses of three family members: his father, a son and grandson, Isaac Randolph, who died in a neonatal infant care unit from complications of necrotizing enterocolitis (an intestinal disorder) 10 days after his premature birth. In response to the pertinent questions from his other young grandchildren about what happens to us after we die, James wrote a children's book, Where Do We Go?, which was published in 2008.

Simple Woman’s Daybook:

simplewomandaybooksmall_thumb4_thumb

For Today March 22nd, 2010

Outside my window- It is suppose to be rainy again…. which makes me sad, since it was so nice this past few days.

I am thinking- YAY! Cookies are over, now I can finish up the last of the paperwork, and get back to normal.

From my imagination- Nothing right now, luckily have a vacation week next week from almost everything, and then I can regenerate and get back to my norm.

I am thankful for- Lots of stuff… we tend to lose track of the things we take for granted. I’m trying to remind myself of them more lately.

From the kitchen- Not sure… Very good question. Any Suggestions?

I am wearing- Jeans, t-shirt, and croc’s!

I am reading- A few books right now…

I am hoping- for a smooth week…

I am creating-  Nothing!

I am hearing- Just the hum of my computer, and the kids chattering at the table. Almost time for them to head to school.

One of my favorite things- Get togethers, memories, and fun!

A few plans for the rest of the week….  Dance, Girl Scout Meeting, Baseball, Cub Scouts, Library, some training, errands, T-ball, Baseball again, a softball game with the girl scouts, hopefully some relaxing.

A Picture I'm sharing-  A picture of Holly, Hunter, Mickey Mouse, & Me, from Disney! Miss you Girl!!!

A Trip to Disney

with our visitor Holly. Well after a few days of Rain to ruin our plans.. We finally were able to get to Disney. Thanks again to our great friend Jessica for helping us out with that!

On Saturday morning Hunter, Me, and Holly headed out to check out Disney. Were we met up with some more friends there. It was a bit windy but in the 70’s, making it a beautiful day to be outside. We were going to head to Magic Kingdom first but due to crazy amounts of people, also wanting to share in this beautiful weather we ended up at Epcot first.

018

We checked out the Coke Cola place first. Were we managed to trick holly into tasting the Italy one. I wish, I had gotten her face on camera for that! To funny!

021

Then we headed over to see a few characters. You can’t go to Disney and not have your picture taken with Mickey right??

022

027

After we did that, we headed over to see the Tinkerbell Display. Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival was going on. It was beautiful, here are a few of the pictures I took in there.

Fairy Garden College

After that, there really wasn’t to much for the kids to see, so we decided to take a boat to Hollywood Studio’s. Were we got some lunch, and checked out a few places. Mainly just some character spots, and the Playhouse Disney area. Here is a picture of Holly way to excited to see Handy Manny!!! (can you tell we have kids)

077

From there we caught the bus back to the Magic Kingdom. By the time we got back there it was dinner time, so most people were headed out. (still millions of people in there but you know) Our first stop was Tom Sawyer Island for Hunter but it was closed. He was rather upset about this, so we went on to Splash Mountain. Where is is FINALLY big enough to ride it. We got fast passes for later, and went on the train to Toontown. Got on the Barnstormer Roller coaster, and then headed to the Race track. Hunter wanted to drive, so I agreed. He gave me wicked whiplash!!! Oh my goodness!

087

After a few more rides it was time to head back to Splash Mountain. What a blast! Hunter loved it, and of course Holly and I got SOAKED! So worth it though. After that we watched the last Spectro Magic Light Parade, and then called it a day, as we were all tired, and we were beginning to get cold!

098

It was a fun day with great friends, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Tickler Tags Review & Giveaway

Tickler Tags Logo Thermal-smaller
I recently was asked to review Tickler Tags. I know your all thinking what in the world is that. That are a great idea developed by a mom, for moms.

The owner/developer of Tickler Tags Nicole Budleski developed these for her daughter to remember the day’s plans. They help the child, parent and teacher remember what the child is doing that day.
young_boy_swimming
I’m sure that some of you out there have had a child that forgot whether they were suppose to take the bus home, or if you were picking them up. That is where the Tickler Tags come in… Even for a small child who can’t read. They just look at the tag on the backpack, and then they know which they are suppose to do.
Tickler Tags offer:
Activity tags such as Soccer, Gymnastics', Football, and more! Also, Transportation tags, like the bus, carpool, mom or dad picking them up and more.
They also have what they call Tickle tags, which I think are just a wonderful addition. Like good job, way to go, smile, and even more encouraging ones. What better way to cheer them up at school, even when you can’t be there???
Or you can even upload photo’s and customize your own tags.
I think these were a wonderful invention! Our family loves them!!! It such much easier for my kindergartener to remember what is going on for the day.
To Buy: Go to TicklerTags.com today and check them out! The tags run about $1.50/tag, and $2.50/carabiner. They are offering free shipping until MARCH 31ST!!
Or Win:
Tickler Tags has graciously offered 2 of my readers a set of 5 tags, and 1 carabiner each!
To Enter:
Go to TicklerTags.com and pick which 5 Tags you would like and the Carabiner color, and put them in your comment. (MANDATORY TO ENTER)

I am wearing- Capri’s, a tee, and croc’s! YAY!

I am reading- Nothing at the moment…but getting ready to start a new book.

I am hoping- that this week goes smoothly, and we have a good week. So much to do so little time to do it. Lol…

I am creating-  Not a thing this week. YOU?

To be honest I haven’t had a chance to finish this whole book yet, because I was a bit late receiving it. However, the chapters I have skimmed are so full of information. I have learned quite a bit already… just on the basic’s. I love to learn new things, so this was a great choice for me to read. The Chapters that have stuck out the most to me are 4 Marketing Basics, 6 Blogging, 12 Get creative. I’m eager to finish. This book is such a wealth of information that it would help a beginner or someone who has been in this for awhile to get a fresh look.

YAY! A special vistor:

I was so excited, when my best friend from Maine told me she was coming down on her spring break from College. It has been a little over a year since the last time I saw her. Which is a long time for us. We grew up together as kids, and so we are a more like sisters. We tell each other everything, even if its hard. I’m happy to have such a great relationship with her. I’m very blessed.

me

We keep in touch by writing, calling, texting, video chatting, and instant messaging several times a week, but its just not the same. Its hard for me not, to be there having our kids play together or just going shopping together sometimes, ya know??

I’m happy that she was able to come spend a week here with us. I’ll post more about our visit through out the week!!

Opening Day Baseball…..

went off without a hitch! Two of my kids are playing baseball this year. Hunter is on coach pitch again this year, and then my youngest daughter Sage is playing T-ball.
They are both very excited to be playing this season. Hunter is happy to be returning and see how much more he can improve.
016
Doesn’t he look so handsome??
018
Sage is excited to be playing for the first year. She is so cute out there in her pink cleats, and pink/purple glove.
020
They both had a great morning with pictures, and then we went out on the field to be announced. After the Mayor threw the first pitch, we had lunch. Hunter wasn’t able to play his scrimmage game, due to his surgery the week before...but Sage was. We had a great time, and enjoyed the day. More to come on this years season.

My Job Chart Review

Looking for an easy way to keep track of your kids chores??
I recently had the opportunity to try out My Job Chart which is online. Making it a bit easier to find, and keep track of. We used to have one on the fridge, but it would forever get knocked down, lost or they would end putting stickers in where they shouldn’t.
With My Job Chart, you sign up for free. Add as many kids as you want, and give them there own password. Then you can go in and put the chores you want them to do. Such as homework, brushing teeth, taking out the trash or cleaning their room. Each one is already alotted an amount of points for doing it. Then you go on the rewards page, and put in how many points the have to reach to get what ever you choose. There is rewards to choose from like, computer time, movies, new book, etc. You can even add your own chores in, or rewards. Very adaptable to your families needs.
My son really likes this program, so he can track how many more points he needs to get what he is working for. Plus he has a list right in front of him… of the things he needs to do, and when. As you can break them down by day and AM/PM.
Hurry and sign up today! Make your life a bit simpler!

Random stuff update:

Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop you a line…

I have been crazy busy with life these last few weeks. Its been insane… so here is a quick recap.

  • Hunter is recovering slowly, but doing ok. He has had an unusual amount of pain in his ears. However, he is starting to act better, so that is a good sign. We are busy working on some homework he needs to finish up from being out. I am pretty sure he will need the 2nd week off from school, just to be sure he is on the up and up.
  • The girls are finally over there cold, and sage seems to be doing much better…. and sleeping a bit better.
  • I’ve been getting more and more reviews, which is very exciting to me… I’m so excited that my blog is starting to grow so well. I wanted to apologize for my slowness lately. Thanks for your patience.
  • Baseball is going good, but slow. It has been very cold out, so practices are a challenge. We would be ok, if the wind would die down, and some of the rain would go away. We have opening day ceremonies this week. More on that to follow after the weekend.
  • Both kids are doing great in school… I have had a meeting with both their teachers, and they are A students right now. I’m very proud of them. Sage, is continuing to do good at home. We are starting to learn some small words, and doing some math. She is loving it!
  • Girl Scouts is doing awesome. We started with 2 girls at the beginning of the year… I’m happy to say our troop has grown to 13 girls in the past few months. I’m very proud of them and their accomplishments. We are doing great with our Cookie Booth Sales. However, making my life a bit crazy right now!
  • Cub Scouts is also going good… As you probably have read earlier, Hunter has gotten his Wolf Badge, and so due to baseball, we aren’t able to attend meetings every week, but we are still working on stuff at home.
  • That is about the most of our life… so if I am slow to return an email, or comment, please forgive me, I’m still trying to learn a good balance of everything!! Thanks again for following my blog!

For Today March 1st, 2010

Outside my window…it is sunny, but oh so chilly!!!

I am thinking…. Phew one week down, a few more to go!!!

From my imagination….. Nothing, we are to busy for imaginations right now.

I am thankful for…. my son being a good sport about surgery.

From the kitchen...Not sure… got to get that figured out.

I am wearing…. Jean’s and a t-shirt

I am reading… Nothing but need to start a new one very soon!

I am hoping…. That Hunter’s recovery stays on the mend. He is slowly coming around.

I am creating…. time for me!

I am hearing….. Everyone sleeping… need to get Rachel up for school though very soon!!

One of my favorite things…..Girl Scout cookies! YUM!

A few plans for the rest of the week….  Dance, Trip to the cookie warehouse, Girl Scout Meeting, Baseball, Cub Scouts, Library,  T-ball practice, and Cookie Booths Sales.

A Picture I'm sharing..... Hunter in the recovery process…

Waiting for the doctor at Sage's appt
