1. What is the weather like where you are and do you like it?

The weather has been insanely weird this year. We started with a freak snow storm at the end of October… Then it turned warm again… So warm that we had mud in December! Plus we have been getting tons of RAIN! Not, excited about that. Then we went from 40-50 degree’s everyday to 9 or below.. and now we are all freezing! This week, it has been very cold, and today it is actually snowing. However, pretty sure the weather man said it wasn’t going to accumulate or amount to anything! We shall see right?

2. When you're sick what do you seek comfort from?

No one… I just want to be left alone. Occasionally my husband I guess.. My kids always want to cuddle with me when I’m sick though, and I hate to, cause I don’t want them to catch what I have. I don’t get sick very often though.. (Knock on wood)

3. What do you need to do before the end of the month?

I need to register and inspect my car… and get new tires. YAY! NOT!!! Other than that… nothing major that I can think of.

4. Have you ever served on a jury?

Nope, (again knocking on wood) I have never been asked to serve on a jury. Watch I’ll be asked in the next week or so, now.

5. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

Ohh… I would be a Dolphin… because I love to swim.. Plus I just think they are such beautiful creatures when they are swimming along. So graceful and gorgeous, and they are gentle. Smile

1. Do you apologize to your kids if you're wrong?

I believe we have had this question before…

Since we are all human and make mistakes, yes, I try to apologize to them if I’m wrong. Cause I want them to know that if you are wrong you should admit it. However, I try to never be wrong!!!

2. Do you have a class ring, Letterman's jacket, or similar obscenely priced high school "must have"?

I have a class ring, but that is all. Why I’m not sure though, I think it was more of a it “was cool at that time” thing. I didn’t really ever really wear it that often, and now it just sits in my jewelry box.

3. If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose?

I think I would have to choose 27… Not to young, not to old. Plus 27 is a great number, (the day I was born.. lol) You??

4. What is your favorite (unused) baby name?

Hmmm… I love to pick names that aren’t heard very often. My son’s name was never popular until after he was born… and my youngest daughters name is still not heard all that often.

For girls I like the name Paige (but I think it is widely used now)

For a boys name I wanted to name my next son Storm, but never had another boy. Sad smile

5. If you could make your child like something what would it be?

For my middle daughter veggies

For all three of them, I would have to say Cleaning, so I didn’t have to fight with them so much!

My son will do laundry for me, except the folding, but hey it’s a start right?

The girls love to do the dishes, but they play and make such a mess, and don’t get half the dishes clean… so I usually do them myself.

I know, I know, beggars cant be choosers. Smile

1. Shoes in the house - yay or nay?

I say Nay! I don’t like dirt being tracked all over the house.  We have all hardwood floors, so it comes in fast. Blah.. However, if you are a visitor I don’t ask or assault you at the door to take them off. (I may cringe a wee bit though..Lol)

Least favorite, hands down is cleaning the bathroom!

Most favorite is probably laundry.. as much as it’s a annoying thing to do almost everyday, it’s the easiest.

It would depend on the situation. I would have to say new appliances if I didn’t have any or they were on their last legs.

Creative
3. What store do you refuse to shop at and why?

Not really any store in particular. I do avoid buying lots of items at certain stores, cause I know they will be more expensive. I am really not a huge fan of Wal-Mart's so I limit my shopping there to once a month or less. (or I send my mom, Lol)

4. If you participated in arranged marriages for your child(ren), who would you choose for your child(ren)?

Oh my… I really don’t know. I’m not sure I could pick a suitable mate for my children. That is such a complex thing. I feel sorry for people who have arranged marriages. Can you imagine having to marry without loving the person you are tied to for the rest of your life? Crazy I say!

1. Do you have siblings and are you close with them?

Sadly, I am only child. I often wish I had a brother or a sister, but then again.. I see how much my kids fight, and say why would I want one. But it would be nice I think to have one to count on, or a shoulder to cry on once and awhile.

2. Would you rather be slightly UNDER weight or slightly OVER weight?

Well I currently have 2 girls and 1 boy…. I must say after my time with them thus far.. I would have to say all boys, my son was by far the easiest. The girls are to dramatic, and emotional. Drives me Looney! I can’t even imagine what it will be like as a teenager… OH MY!

Yes, I would have to say I would.. A friend of mine is currently going thru this situation. I really believe if it is best for the child, I would do it. I often get sad and emotional thinking of all those foster care kids out there that don’t have anyone to call their own, belong too. I wish, I could help them all. With that being said, I couldn’t see any of my family go to foster care without doing anything. My heart is often to big…

Can you imagine not feeling like you belong anywhere though?

Five Question Friday

image

1. Do you think cursive writing is overrated? (Schools in Indiana have now voted to take teaching cursive writing out of their curriculum.)

You know I think it is kinda funny you asked this question.. I have been discussing this with a few people lately… As my son is going into 4th grade, and I was thinking I should add that to our curriculum.

I don’t think its overrated… obviously I think that they should learn it to know how to sign something.

I will say though, even since I was a kid, I have never really wrote in cursive. Mine always ended up being more like a mix of handwriting and cursive.

2. Do you still use a pocket calendar or notepad or do you keep your info on your smart phone?

Your going to laugh at this! I use Cozi (so my husband can just check the app on his phone to know my schedule) Then I use Gmail calendar to keep track on my computer and phone… Then I have a paper version on the fridge. Yup, I like to have all my bases covered! Sad, I know! Smile

3. What 3 things would you save if your house was burning down? (family & pets are already safe)

Pictures first and foremost… and then my laptop! But I think everything else is replaceable. I mean my laptop is obviously replaceable, but my stuff on it isn’t!

4. Country Mouse or City Mouse, err Person?

I really have a internal debate with myself on this one. I really love being in the country… the safety, quiet and such. But part of me really enjoys the city as well.

I’ve decided I think I could stand the city for awhile, and then I would have to come back to the country.

5. If you could pick ANY reality show to go on, which would you pick?

I would have to say absolutely hands down Big Brother! I am such a fan of that show. Not sure I could hack it the whole time, but I would certainly have fun trying!

No, I probably would pass. I’d rather Sky Dive… However, I did at one point want to try. Smile

I really enjoy both. Drive-in’s are nice, and we are lucky to still have one here in our local area. They are still relatively cheap as well.

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?

No, and not sure, I could really ever completely get into that.

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?

Au Naturel… I’ve never been big on worrying about my eyebrows, so they are what they are.. I figure if people don’t like it don’t look at me! Smile

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?

No I really don’t think so… I’ve always been a around kids, so having 3 is really not surprising. They might be shocked with my homeschooling choice, but not really even sure about that.

Yes, we do.. Even when they were in Public school I had them reading and doing worksheets, so they didn’t get behind.
