Our weekend…

Sorry, I’m a few days late getting this up. I have been super busy with our weekly activities, and appointments.

Then I had to work on my car, and get it ready for inspection. Oh, so many things to do as an adult!

Back to our weekend…

We had a great time, and I even relaxed! Can you believe that? Our first night, we had dinner, and then headed down to go swimming.. the only problem was for a heated pool, it was cool.  I love to swim, but I couldn’t even bare being in it. Off to the hot tub I went! The kids mustered through it, and swam for a bit, till they were to cold.

Then we had a snack, watched some TV, and headed to bed.

On the following day we had a bit more fun. Went to our all time favorite store Goodwill, and got some great deals. Got a bunch of books for school (lol, couldn’t help myself), a new jacket, and a few pairs of pants for hubby! Then we headed off to the Mall. It has been 4 yrs since we had been to the mall. Boy has a lot changed! One thing made me super happy though, they put in a Johnny Rockets in the Food Court, while not a full restaurant it is there! Loved that place when we lived in FL.

While at the mall we had lunch at the food court. Which for a family of five, is sometimes a good thing. Monkey Man got Teriyaki Chicken at the Japanese place. Girls got spaghetti at the pizza place, and me and hubs got orange chicken at Panda Express! YUM!

After the mall we headed to the Scout Shop, and got Middle Monkey his Boy Scout shirt for next year. Then back to our room to go swimming again.

Grabbed a quick dinner and head off to the highlight of our weekend… Disney on Ice!!! We met up with friends from our Girl Scout Troop. This years was Treasure Trove, which included a few new acts we hadn’t seen. Here are a few pictures from our night…

After the show, we headed back to our hotel, and watched some TV. The kids made it till midnight when they and I finally passed out.

The following morning, we got up and slowly got our stuff together, and packed up. After we checked out, we headed off to the Girl Scout Shop, where I got some patches for my troop. (they are going to be super excited) Then we made a stop at Toys R Us, so Little Monkey could pick out a toy and pay with money she got from her Nana & Papa.  That totally made her day!

Then we made a quick stop off at the bookstore. They put in a Books-a-million! I’m so excited to have one in the state. LOVE that place!

Then we headed off to the mall, to finish the half we didn’t do the day before. We also met up with our friends again, and hang out for a few minutes.

Before going away, we knew that there was a Cracker Barrel near where we were staying, and we love it. Unfortunately the only one in the state of Maine, is 2 hrs away from us. So we knew that was one place we wanted to stop before coming back home. Therefore, that was were we went for lunch. Yum! I got my favorite Chicken Sandwich!

After that, we got gas, and headed towards home… We were sad to leave, but had a great time, and made some great memories.  Just what we all needed!

What did you do last weekend? Have you ever been to a Disney on Ice Show?

Disney on Ice Princess

Thanks to a wonderful friend, we had the oppurtunity to go see the Disney on Ice Princess show this past weekend.

I didn’t tell the girl’s about it at all, cause as I’m sure you know they bug you with questions all day long. How much longer? When are we leaving? Are we there yet? When will we see them?? Etc…

I told them that I had a surprise for them, to get nice clothes on and get ready to leave. Got them in the car, and told them we had one stop to pick someone up, and then we would be on our way. Normally that wouldn’t be good enough for my 7 yr old Middle Monkey, but she was excellent about it. After picking up a friend and her daughter, we headed off to the big city in this state!

Upon arriving I then informed them of what we were going to see. Excited where they excited! They had been wanting to see this show really bad. With big smiles on their face, we entered the building and found our seats.

The show was great! Just as I remembered it from 3 yrs ago! I just wish they would alternate shows here in our small state. The girls had fun though, and that is all that matters. Little Monkey went crazy when Mickey Mouse came out on the ice. You would have thought we had never seen him (or lived near Disney for the last 2 yrs)

A Trip to Disney

with our visitor Holly. Well after a few days of Rain to ruin our plans.. We finally were able to get to Disney. Thanks again to our great friend Jessica for helping us out with that!

On Saturday morning Hunter, Me, and Holly headed out to check out Disney. Were we met up with some more friends there. It was a bit windy but in the 70’s, making it a beautiful day to be outside. We were going to head to Magic Kingdom first but due to crazy amounts of people, also wanting to share in this beautiful weather we ended up at Epcot first.

018

We checked out the Coke Cola place first. Were we managed to trick holly into tasting the Italy one. I wish, I had gotten her face on camera for that! To funny!

021

Then we headed over to see a few characters. You can’t go to Disney and not have your picture taken with Mickey right??

022

027

After we did that, we headed over to see the Tinkerbell Display. Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival was going on. It was beautiful, here are a few of the pictures I took in there.

Fairy Garden College

After that, there really wasn’t to much for the kids to see, so we decided to take a boat to Hollywood Studio’s. Were we got some lunch, and checked out a few places. Mainly just some character spots, and the Playhouse Disney area. Here is a picture of Holly way to excited to see Handy Manny!!! (can you tell we have kids)

077

From there we caught the bus back to the Magic Kingdom. By the time we got back there it was dinner time, so most people were headed out. (still millions of people in there but you know) Our first stop was Tom Sawyer Island for Hunter but it was closed. He was rather upset about this, so we went on to Splash Mountain. Where is is FINALLY big enough to ride it. We got fast passes for later, and went on the train to Toontown. Got on the Barnstormer Roller coaster, and then headed to the Race track. Hunter wanted to drive, so I agreed. He gave me wicked whiplash!!! Oh my goodness!

087

After a few more rides it was time to head back to Splash Mountain. What a blast! Hunter loved it, and of course Holly and I got SOAKED! So worth it though. After that we watched the last Spectro Magic Light Parade, and then called it a day, as we were all tired, and we were beginning to get cold!

It was a fun day with great friends, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Adult Trip to Disney:

After a stressful few weeks, of kids being sick, and packing for our trip to Maine…. I really, really needed a girls day, night out! My wonderful friend Jessica, offered to spend the day with me, and bring along a few of her friends. Off we went!

Yup, we went to the Magic Kingdom and enjoyed the day with no kids whining, or begging to wait in long lines, just did what we wanted and acted silly. Does it get much better than that? Here are a few photo’s from our day!

After we left Disney and Jessica got drenched trying to put gas in the car. (came in and poured right at that moment) We went back to her house for a bit, chilled, talked, and she changed out of her drenched clothes. (yes, I’m guilty for laughing at her but only if you could have seen her lose her shoe in the pouring down rain) From there, we headed out to the Ale House, a local sports bar/restaurant to meet another friend of hers for dinner. We order a couple appetizers and shared them, and still couldn’t finish it all. What amazing food they have! YUM! We sat and talked an adult conversation, and had some laughs for a couple hours, and then we headed out. It was sad to say goodbye to all the fun, but we promised to try and get together once a month for more fun! It was a blast, and much needed! Thanks again Jess!!!

Star Wars Weekend

Every year at Disney they have 4 weekends at the end of May thru to the middle of June where they do “Star Wars” weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s. This is where you can meet the people who play the characters, or do the voices. Plus they have all the characters around the park to meet and get autograph’s and pictures. Seeing that my husband and son are so big into Star Wars we decided to do this one big last thing before Hunter left for his trip to Maine for the summer. We picked second weekend of them, this past weekend to go.

It was hot and very humid this past weekend, so the kids were a bit cranky, but not bad. We got lots of pictures of characters, and some autographs. Hunter missed a few he would have liked to have gotten, but there is always next year.

The girls like Star Wars, but are not completely into it, so of course we did some other stuff too. Sage loved the Playhouse Disney show, where she got to see her favorites from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”, “The Little Einstein's”, “My Friend Tigger & Pooh”, and “Handy Manny”. Then she got to meet and get some pictures we a few of them. The other fun part that Rachel really enjoyed, was the new “Toy Story” ride…. similar to the Buzz Lightyear ride in the Magic Kingdom, but lots more fun. We suggest this ride if you go, but make sure to get Fastpasses, as the lines are crazy up to 2hrs wait time!

All and all we had a wonderful day and got to see lots of stuff. Great end to the weekend….. and start to summer! Here are a few photo’s of our day!

Africa

After leaving Asia, we hiked on to Africa. Our first stop was to see “King Louie”.

All of us with King Louie

That was a nice surprise to thee kids. From there Andy and Rachel went over to the Safari Ride and got us Fast Passes. While we waited for our time to come we went over to catch the train to Conservation Station. The only way to and from there is the train. At Conservation Station we got to pet animals at the petting zoo. Learn what we can do to help with keeping our earth safe for our animals. Then we got to see some more characters. Our battery died on us, so I will share the couple photo’s we got right before this…

She loved her

Sage was so happy to see her! She didn’t want to let go.

Aren't they cute

What a cute couple!

We also saw couple others but our camera died as we were about to get the pictures. After going back to Africa we went over and went on the Safari. We saw a wide varitey of animals, including a Giraffe…which completely made Hunter HAPPY! :)

Our last stop of the day was at the Gorilla trial. We went through, and saw the gorilla’s. We stopped to see some Hippo’s. Then we stopped at the last Kid Discovery Station, were they learned how to track by tracks and poop. Hunter found it pretty interesting. The girls just giggled.

We had a great day. Lots of laughs, smiles, and memory making.

Asia

Can you believe we traveled all the way to Asia on Sunday??? Ok, so the dream would be wonderful, but for now we will have to settle for our trip around Asia, at Disney.

Our biggest adventure around Disney was going through one of the trails, were we got to see lots of cool animals. Rachel at first wanted no part of this cause she didn’t dare to see the Tigers. After I let Hunter and Andy go ahead of us and see them she changed her mind, and thought they were really cool. Here are so of the animals we saw along the way.

Dragon 3

Here is a Komodo Dragon. Hunter thought he was fun to watch.

Huge Snake

A very big snake. Notice Hunter’s reflection in the glass! LOL! I’m not a big fan of snakes, but I don’t make a big deal of them so my kids aren’t afraid. Sometimes hard for me to do!

Tiger 8

Isn’t it beautiful? I just find them gorgeous. We got many shots, but I like this one the best. Hope you enjoyed our tour of Asia.

Dino-land

We didn’t really got to spend as much time in Dino-land that we would have liked to, since the place was really mobbed. We did get to check it out though, stopped at our Kid Discovery Station, and grabbed a quick snack. The kids wanted to go on the Dinosaur ride, but the line was really long, and we knew they couldn’t handle waiting 30 minutes or longer.

Dino Ride Above is the picture of the ride they wanted to go on. After we explained the line was really long, we got them to move on to the really big Boneyard Playground. The place is huge, with lots of slides, and things to climb on. Here are a few shots of them playing…

Can't go fast enough

Having fun

She flew down this one

Rachel almost landed on her butt coming done this slide! Laugh did she laugh. After so much fun there, we decided to move on to Asia…..

The Lion King

After stopping by to see Koda. My FIL got us front row seats to see the Loin King Show. We have been there before, but it truly is an amazing show. If you ever go to Disney be sure you see this show. I want to share a couple shots of the show…it was dark in there so I only got a few good photo’s.

We sat in the Giraffe section which made Hunter happy as he loves those Giraffe’s.

The zebra & snake

The monkeys were awesome

The dancers in this show are just amazing! They really get in the spirit, and are wonderful.

Awesome on Stilts

Hunter joining in the show

This last picture is of Hunter joining in the show. He was chosen along with his sisters, but they were to chicken to go. To shake maracas around the center stage while they were singing. He was completely amazed, and excited. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of his face, it was so priceless! All and all the kids really loved this show, and we can’t wait to see it again another time.

Camp Minnie Mickey!

Camp Minnie Mickey sign

The kids were very excited to head to Camp Minnie Mickey… Here they have a spot where four characters are out all day for signing and pictures. We didn’t actually go see them, but we did stop and see the sites. We had to get a picture of Daisy, being Sage’s favorite!

Daisy 2

Then we stopped to see Koda. We got his autograph…and a few pictures.

All of us with Koda

So fun! :)
