February 13th, 2012

Outside my window...

It is bitterly cold.. Brrr! We haven’t gotten much snow this year, so I can’t complain to much. But these really cold temps are hard to deal with!

I am thinking...

This is going to be another fairly busy week, but a fun one! Can’t believe my baby is going to be 7 on Thursday!!! Oh my, I’m not ready for this… She is suppose to stay little forever!

I am thankful for... 

Our weekend away together. We had a really good time, and enjoyed each others company, along with some friends on Friday night!

From the learning rooms...

We are on vacation this week and next. Then we will have 10 weeks left and we will be done with this year. Can’t believe we will have put in 175 days! Time flies, when your having fun!  

From the kitchen...

Sandwiches, or Quesadilla's can’t decide, we have to have something quick cause of our busy schedule.

Jeans, my girl scout shirt, and sneakers

Some goody bags for my girl scouts tonight.. I want to give them a little treat for Valentine’s Day.

I am going...

To be relaxing for the next week, well the best I can.. (trying to learn to embrace that relax thing a bit more)

I am reading...

Nothing at the moment, finished my Cedar Cove Series, so I need to find a new series to read. Any suggestions?

I am hoping...

That we have a great week, and that Little Monkey has a great birthday!

I am hearing...  

My kids chatter… trying to figure out everything we are doing today.

Around the house... 

I have a few more loads of laundry to do, and some cleaning up to get done.

One of my favorite things...

My babies (cause no matter how old they get, they will always be my babies) smiles.

A few plans for the rest of the week: 

4H (candy making today), Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Grocery Shopping, Library, Fixing my car, Doc Appt, Playdate, and some family time.

In my life this week…

We have been battling colds, and stomach bugs..

Once we were better, we enjoyed a class…

Then we left for a mini vacation, and enjoyed some family time!

In our homeschool this week…

We finished up our last week of this 8wk block….

We had a tanglewood class through 4H- the kids learned about Winter Explorations (how animals eat, and stay warm in the winter) all while Snow Shoeing! They LOVED it!  

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Slow down, if they are getting to frustrated with something. Monkey Man did much better this block when we took the Math down to 3 days a week, instead of everyday. He just needed the breather.

I am inspired by…

Many of my friends that have Homeschooled for so long. They remind me its ok to struggle, have off days, and think you are failing. Its all part of the process!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

This upcoming week we are off from school, but we have plenty of things going on..

4H, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and its Little Monkey’s Birthday!

My favorite thing this week was…

Watching my kids faces when they saw how good they are at something!

Cleaning that schoolroom. I will finish it while we are on vacation the next couple weeks!

Nothing at the moment… Finished the last book in the Cedar Cove Series! It was so good, but I hate when a series ends!

Weekend plans??

 

 

Every year Disney on Ice comes to our big city here in Maine. I usually just take the girls, cause it’s a princess kinda thing, and Monkey Man really isn’t into that. Can’t imagine why can you??

Well this year, it was Peter Pan, and Loin King in it too. So, I gave the option to him to go. He decided that he wanted to join in.

There spark the fire for my inspiration for a weekend away. We NEVER take a weekend again. After the last year of changes, and months of stresses, I decided it would be good for us. We needed a stress free weekend of fun, just us (our family of 5).

Our plans started coming together, and as you read this… we will be sitting at Disney on Ice. The kids are super excited, and so are we. We are going to spend a few extra days in the city, at a nice hotel. We are going to relax, swim, and just enjoy each others company. (Ahh.. )

Today I’m thankful for… The fact that we are leaving for a few days. We need a nice getaway. Stay tuned for more info about our mini vacation. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I know I will!

Paris, maybe Venice.. oh, to tough to decide. I want to visit all of them really bad…

Not really… something I struggle with.

Hmm… so many. I’m not really sure. I love lots of them!

Outside my window...

Its cold.. but warmer than most days lately…  (ready for spring to be here)

Wow, in 10 days my baby will be 7yrs old.. She isn’t a baby anymore..

Lots of things right now!

We are learning.. Finishing our 114th day today! We are getting there.
