Exploring

When the girls got hungry we went out and explored a bit… We walked a block down the street to a nearby Pizza place… they served “New York” style pizza, and boy wasn’t it delish! I forgot to take a picture of it, but I did get this mural on the wall outside.

After lunch we took the long way back to the museum to get some fresh air and walk a bit. On the next block over we found these neat statues……

Man on a ladder

Angel statue I think

Mom and child one

Then we found a park on our way back… so of course we had to stop.  Here are a few shots from that.

I didn’t get as many as hoped cause Sage fell head first down a set of cement stairs… only to get boo-boo’s on her knee! Phew!
I could have spent all day at this park, the girls didn’t feel the same way!

Our family loves to explore new places. What better way to spend your summer with some inexpensive fun, then go to a town you haven’t been to and see what it has to offer? Plus get some exercise in the process!  What kinds of things have you been up to this summer???

11 Countries in one day??

While Andy and I went and finished our Christmas shopping today. My in-laws took our 3 kids to Disney... Oh, very exciting for them..... and very tiring to the in-laws. They ended up going to Epcot, and walking around the world. Yup, they hit 11 countries in one day. Needless to say they were very tired.....perhaps more like exhausted! They had a wonderful time though. During their travels around the world, they got a stamp for each country they visited. Plus they learned how to write their names in a few different languages. Here is a picture of Sage's completed mask from her tour around the world! :)

Now while they were all having fun, we went to the Outlet Mall. Which was pretty impressive with around 200 stores. We of course only hit a few that we were interested in... On a good note that was easy to find....(ohhh...just wait) Then from there we headed out to go to the Florida Mall which has probably another 300 stores, roughly. I was very excited about going there, until we started on our way, and got lost, not once, but 4 times! Oh my, goodness! Tell me how such a big mall can be so hard to find?? Florida has this thing about not giving you any signs along the way to help find these sort of things. Finally, after I think close to 2hrs! We made it to they Mall. I'm glad we did, as we didn't find as good of deals, as I would have liked. However, none the less, we had a good day together (alone...which never really happens) and we got the kids some stuff we really think they will like. I can't wait to post after Christmas!

We arrived!

I just wanted to inform you all that we arrived safely! I have some more blogs and pictures to put up when I have some time to sit down and do it. We had a very nice trip. We drove straight thru for the most part, leaving at 6pm on Tuesday night, and arriving in Davenport at 6am on Thrusday morning. We would have been in late Wednesday night, but we made some stops to get a quick nap, or to let the kids run around and stretch their legs. However, I must say for having a 6,4, and 3 yr old in the car with us, they did an awesome job. Thanks to the people who called us along the way and kept checking on us. :) We are now getting settled in, and starting our job search.... I'm off to bed in a few to catch up from the lack of sleep. More blogs, and pictures soon.

Family Reunion

For the last two years we have had a family reunion for just the Merry's... Meaning my grandmother, her children, us grandkids, and our children. :) Well today we had our second one... Held at my Uncle Eugene's and Aunt Doris's... located on Toddy Pond in Orland... I believe (still figuring that one out.. lol..) Anywho... after a long ride there, cause my daughter decided to throw a tanturm... and giving me a headache. It was nice to see everyone. All the family was there, except, my cousin tracy and her husband, my cousin Michelle, and my cousin Jessica. Not a bad turn out, or atleast i didn't think so. It was good to see Aunt Doris, (or as I call her Auntie Em) and my cousins that i only see once a year if I am lucky. Also nice to have conversations with someone other than a 3,4, or 6 yr old, once and awhile! lol... It was a beautiful day, as we got lucky no rain. My kids enjoyed playing in the water, always a highlight to them. Plus being able to play with their cousins they don't often see. If I can get my hands on a few photo's, I will post them later. I didn't have any batteries for my camera! UGH! Can't wait to see them all again next year!
