Oral-B Pro-Health For Me Rechargeable Toothbrush Review:

With the biggest candy holiday coming up just next week, it is important that we remind our kids of good brushing habits.

Trick or Treat with America’s ToothFairy is a campaign that they use to help get kids to have better oral health habits. All while raising funds to help pay for at-risk children suffering from tooth decay. Did you know that it is the #1 Chronic Childhood disease?

I don’t know about you, but my kids still have a hard time remembering to brush their teeth two times a day. As a parent we really need to keep on them about this. A couple of mine are dealing with loose teeth right now. Another one just had to have 4 cavities filled, cause she has very crowded teeth.

Just some ideas for Halloween instead of handing out candy:

  • Toys
  • Glow in the dark bracelets
  • Pencils and erasers
  • Stickers
  • Pretzels
  • and more!

This past month we have had the opportunity to review the Oral B Pro-Health for Me Rechargeable Toothbrush. Let me start by saying, I’m going to have to go buy a couple more. They instantly fought over who was going to use it! I decided to let Monkey Man use it, since he has been begging for one recently.

IMG_20131016_061923_360

He was really excited about it. It is very easy to use, and we got replacement heads that should last awhile. There is a 2 minute timer, so they know how long they should be brushing for. He was really good about using it this past month, so I’m hoping maybe this is the incentive he needed to get him going on being better about his dental hygiene.

You can purchase the Oral B Pro-Health for Me Rechargeable Toothbrush at any local Wal-Mart for $28.97. Then you can get the Oral B Pro-Health for me Sensitive clean replacement Brush Heads for $21.22.

Be sure to keep on them  over the next few weeks, while they are enjoying so many sugary treats to keep them teeth brushed really well. Be sure to swing by and sign up for the Toothfairy’s  Kid’s club as well and help raise money for a child in need.

News-O-Matic Review and Giveaway:

Do you worry about your kids hearing the wrong kind of news? Or that they won’t understand it?

When I was asked to review this new App, I was excited. Monkey Man loves to watch the news, and keep up on what is going on. The News-O-Matic App from Press4Kids helps keep the kids up to date, but in a kid friendly way. They bring current events to them and how they affect them in a age-appropriate way.

Press4Kids is a group of journalist, educators, and entrepreneurs. It was started in 2012 and works hard to inform children about current news and world events.

News-O-Matic is targeted towards ages 7-10, however my 11 yr old really enjoyed it still. It is a week day newspaper App that includes five daily stories, detailed images, videos, maps, timelines, and games. It is updated everyday around 3:30 EST, so it is ready for when they get home from school. They even give them a hands on approach, by being able to interact with the Editor-in-chief. They can rate the stories, draw pictures, and ask questions. Don’t you know my son was right on their asking questions right away! (they were really great about answering them too)

iPad Screenshot 3
My kids were super excited to read “their” newspaper everyday to see what was going on around the world. They also liked to tell me about it. This was absolutely a highlight to their day!

This App is very easy to use, and your kids really learn a lot! Added bonus they get to learn it all without the added extra violence.

You can purchase this App on iTunes for your iPad or iPad Mini.  It is a bit steep in price… $49.99 for the year subscription, $6.99 a month, or $1.99 a week.
However, being a homeschooling mom. . . I think I could justify this for my kids for a year. Really great information.

You can find Press4Kids on Facebook and Twitter too.

How would you like to win a prize pack?
One of my readers can win a goody bag with a $10 iTunes gift card, backpack, hats, water bottles, and an iPad screen cleaner.

*I was provided with 3 issues News-O-Matic from Childs Play Communications and Press4Kids, and a goodie bag. All opinions are 100% mine or my monkeys.

Review: Disney’s Shake It Up: I <3 Dance CD

Shake It Up I Heart Dance Album Sampler

What kid doesn’t like Disney right?

I recently received the Disney’s Shake It Up: I <3 Dance Cd to review. My girls went crazy! Once I opened the package and they saw what it was, they were jumping up and down, begging for me to play it.

My girls have only seen Disney’s Shake It Up! Show a couple of times, but knew who the stars Bella Thorne, and Zendaya were immediately! Guess I’m out of the loop! Ha-ha! On the Cd you will find a collection of 12 dance tracks from their third season of the show.

Here are a few of the stars you will hear on Shake It Up: I <3 Dance Cd. There are songs from Bella, Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Roshon Fegan, Caroline Sunshine, and Bridgit Mendler.

My girls loved the Cd, and beg to play it in my car all the time. I have to say their a a few songs even I have become fond of. It is a great little Cd. The girls favorite song was “Contagious Love” by Zendaya and Bella Thorne. I think I can sing the whole song now. (But I won’t cause my voice is horrible)

You can purchase the Shake It Up: I <3 Dance Cd from Amazon or iTunes for $9.99. Great gift idea!

*Thank you to Child’s Play and Disney for sending us this CD for review. All opinions are 100% mine or my monkey’s.

Pinypon Review & Party…

With Christmas upon us.. I’m sure your child has been asking for all kinds of things. I know mine are struggling with what to put on their Christmas List. As a parent it is hard to keep up with the latest trend though, or what is new. With my three kids I know this is VERY hard to do.

We recently got the chance to show off a new toy. Since we always have an annual Christmas party for the kids. Where they invite their friends and we decorate cookies, enjoy punch, and if there is snow.. go sliding. This year their was no snow, so we played with toys instead.

What was this toy you ask? Pinypon was the new toy we got to show off. They are new to the market this year. So what are these Pinypon’s you ask? They are mini dolls that are interchangeable. You can swap their dresses, accessories, and hairstyles! So many combinations, for hours of fun! These come with little pieces, so they are recommended for children ages 4-7yrs old.

Each guest at our Party got a Pinypon figure. Then we had a random drawing for one lucky guest to get a Pinypon Caravan. This is a fully loaded house on wheels for your Pinypon. This has so many hours of fun written on it! Their imaginations will come alive! The Caravan also comes with some dolls. The girls were super excited to see when they opened it up, that they could actually put water in the pool. The best part you can get this for $19.99. In my book very reasonable for a toy of this size. It kind of reminds me of a Barbie car, only for little dolls.

After they decorated their cookies, they all gathered round, and played with the caravan, and talked about their different Pinypon’s. They really seemed to enjoy playing with them! I think these will be a great hit this Christmas!

Then before leaving we had the chance to raffle off another toy. The Nenuco Doll, was our next item to give away! The doll we got was the Baby Blows Bubbles. When you squeeze its arm it blows bubbles.  We had lots of happy girls leaving the party that day! As well as happy mommies, cause we sent home some coupons as well! Smile

What a great afternoon of fun, and smiles. We really enjoyed playing with our friends, and being able to give a few items away to them! Hope everyone had a great time!

You can find more about Pinypon on Facebook and Twitter.  You can also find Nenuco Famous Toys on Facebook and Twitter.

Not Back to school photo’s….

Since my kids don’t attend public school, we don’t have school pictures done as often as I used to. I try to stay on top of that, cause when I look at the wall I’m always thinking, where is there newest pictures!! LOL

A local friend of mine, offers to take them every year as well. However, being the budding photographer that I am, and always looking to learn new things I like to take my own as well. Here is my attempt for this year…

Gutzy Gear Party & Review:

Gutzy Gear is the a new product to hit the shelves this back to school season! I know what your thinking, “What in the world is Gutzy Gear?” Well, they are a new way to express yourself.

They are a strap covers for your Backpack, Messenger bags, Laptop bags, or even on your bike or scooter. Then you can get “Gutzies” (cool patches) to put on them to express yourself. There are so many to choose from! Here are just a few we have seen, pizza, fries, burger, smiley faces, dragons, flowers, hearts, and so much more!!!

We recently had a party to help show off these cool new accessories! Here is a look at what we received in our box.

PicMonkey Collage

Everyone at our party got to choose their favorite “Gutzies” and then they attached them to the strap.  At the end of our party, we let the kids trade, and have fun showing off there creations. What a blast we had! The kids couldn’t wait to go to school and show off their new straps!

The great thing about them is that the strap adds cushion making carrying the backpack more comfortable. Another plus is the straps are removable. Great news for the mom’s, the Gutzies are Velcro so there is no attaching or sewing necessary! They stay on nice and secure, but easy enough to switch out or trade with friends!

My kids also wanted to show off their creations!
