No surprise here…

Sage had a Eye Doctor Appointment yesterday and as I figured she needed glasses.

The appointment was very eventful… she didn’t want to cooperate very well with some of the things. She hated the machine that puffs air into her eyes. Then she also was freaked out about getting drops in her eyes. We didn’t want to traumatize her so we decided to skip the drops this time around.

She was a pretty good trooper for the most part. After we got her to calm down… and got her to focus, she started to cooperate. After looking at a few pictures… we came to the conclusion that she has a lazy eye. (not really shocking since I have one as well, and so does one of her cousins) She really struggles to see out of her right eye.

Therefore, her wish to have glasses was granted. Yes, as crazy as it sounds, she has wanted glasses. Could have something to do with the fact that everyone in our house wears glasses. We popped the lenses out of her old sunglasses so she could wear them around the house as her own glasses. That is how obsessed she was. Crazy I say!!! Lets see how long it lasts now that we have the real thing!!!

After looking at yup a total of two pairs, she had her mind set on a pink pair! Our eye doctors does the glasses in a few hours right on the spot. Sage was beyond excited, so waiting was torture!!! She asked me every ten seconds if it was time to go back and get them. Oh my!!

Finally it was time… and she sat so well to have them fitted… I was so proud of her! Here she is with her cute little glasses! My gorgeous girl!

A brave boy…..

During vacation, Hunter needed to go have another round of Allergy testing done. After having his Tonsils, and Adenoids out we wanted to make sure everything else was set, so we can finally just get over this allergy issue.

He was a bit apprehensive cause he new this meant some needles were to be involved, and he is not a needle guy. The Allergist called and had a cream sent to my pharmacist for me. Told me to apply generously and wrap him in plastic wrap! So yup, that is what we did. It was funny!

Once we got there he started to get more nervous, until he realized he couldn’t feel his arms. The cream was a numbing cream. He got his first 32 without any issues… and then it came time for his last 31. Those had to be put in with a needle… he was a bit scared, but once she showed him it didn’t hurt he was good to go. He sat there so good, watching her put them in, reading what they were for.

Come to find out he does not have any allergies to the 63 we did. I was a bit disappointed (just cause it would be nice to have answers) but happy that this was again behind us.

My little man was very brave! I was so proud of him! Good job!!

We left looking like this….

First Eye Doc Appt

Picture 013

And came home looking like this!

To get these new glasses!

Handsome isn't he

Rachel had her first Eye Doctor Appointment today…

She needs glasses for Reading…

Nope, she isn’t sad about it at all.

Cause she got Purple ones (just like mommy’s)

Hunter has been before a few years ago

but he had been complaining of headaches lately…

Well he needs them too.

For reading, computers, or all the time if he so chooses.

He has a stigmatism in one eye, and is far sighted in one eye.

He really wasn’t heart broken either.

I think he looks really handsome in them!

Who was really heartbroken…

Sage who isn’t old enough to have her first appointment, and so desperately wants glasses cause everyone else has them…..

Ears, fluid, usually a bad sign!

Long, long night we had last night! My little man was very much in pain. Anyone following our story knows, that we have been struggling with his ears. As of this May we would have been a year tube free....sadly we did not make it that far. He was up half the night with severe pain in his left ear. By morning it had started to rupture. After making it through the night, we called the doctor as soon as they opened. Unfortunately, we could not get in until 11am. Besides the puss coming out of his ear, we were ok at that point anyway.

The doctor prescribed him an antibiotic, and another one to start after he finishes this one. The second one is going to be a prevented antibiotic, to help stop him from getting an ear infection. I'm skeptical about this, but am not looking forward to the reoccurring problems, or having to put in tubes again. So, we are hoping for the best.

One of the most dreaded tasks...

Am I the only mom that absolutely dreads taking all 3 kids to the doctors? It is the most horrible, head pounding days their can be! GRRR! LOL!
Ok maybe not that bad, but almost. Today I had to take the 2 girls in for their physicals/meet the new doctor. Of course due to schedule issues, Andy had to come with me (meaning Hunter had to come too) or he would be late to work.
It started out with the kids fighting in the waiting room over toys, there was probably at least 7 other kids in there, and of course only mine where the ones fighting! What the heck!
Once in to see the doctor the kids settled down, and were pretty good.
Rachel weighed in at 39 pounds, and 43 inches!
Sage weighed in at 30 pounds (yes we made it passed 25!!!!) and 38 inches tall!
The doctor said they look really good, and are growing nicely. Rachel had to get 4 shots, 3 routine ones, and a flu shoot. Plus a TB test! Oh that was not fun, not even close! Then Sage had to get a flu shot, and a TB test. So they both left screaming! UGH!
It was a hard trip to the doctors, but we made it threw yet another! I usually try to make their apartments separate so I don't have to worry about such chaos, but that didn't happen this time. Hunter has to go back on the 9th for his Psychical.. Luckily no shots are needed, other than a flu shot, which he has already STATED he is NOT going to GET! Which means I will need to hold him down too. UGH!
There has to be an easier way right?? I would think! So, that is our exciting trip!
