Happy Easter!!!

From our family to yours!!!

045

Hope everyone had a great Easter! I know our weekend was full of fun. Still not the same as being back with our family up north. However, we are finding our way with new friends and family.

We started our weekend out with watching movies on Friday night. Since a few of us (mainly me) were still sick, and just not feeling up to par. Then on Saturday we headed to a local church here in our town, that puts on great events for the kids throughout the year.

The kids were able to participate in an Egg Hunt, play in some bounce houses, play games, eat popcorn, and snow cones! Great fun!

Then on Sunday they woke up to their Easter baskets! Excited where they excited! After some breakfast and cleaning up, we went to join some friends for our annual Egg Hunt.

We had a great time! Ending the perfect weekend with a great meal, and some quiet relaxing time!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

For Today April 5th, 2010

Outside my window- it is so nice.. The sun is shinning, and the breeze is cool. Birds are chirping… ah, I love spring!!

I am thinking- So much to get done today… as we embark on the last few weeks of school. Hoping everyone starts to feel better now.

From my imagination- A few ideas spinning around in my head up there, but we will have to see what happens.

I am thankful for- A great Easter weekend with beautiful weather.. fun, friends, and family! It was nice refreshing, relaxing, and exciting!

From the kitchen- Don’t know, its my husbands night to cook!

I am wearing-  My workout clothes right now.

I am reading- Forget me not, by Vicki Hinze.

I am hoping- my kids have a great week back to school, and we have a smooth week.

I am creating-  Some gift bags… For some upcoming girl scout stuff, teachers for the end of the year, and getting some stuff together for Hunter’s birthday.

I am hearing- Max and Ruby… Sage is watching it..while I am working on my blog stuff. Seems weird to only have one kid home again.

One of my favorite things-  Fun!!! I’m excited for the prospects of things to come this summer!

A few plans for the rest of the week….  Dance, Girl Scout Meeting, Baseball, Cub Scouts, Library, errands, T-ball, Baseball again, hopefully some relaxing..

A Picture I'm sharing-  Rachel and Hunter… after Mini Golf. :)

An Absence So Great by Jane Kirkpatrick Blog Tour:

An Absence so Great Book Cover

About the book:

While growing in confidence as a photographer, eighteen-year-old Jessie Ann Gaebele’s personal life is at a crossroads. Hoping she’s put an unfortunate romantic longing behind her as “water under the bridge,” she exiles herself to Milwaukee to operate photographic studios for those owners who have fallen ill with mercury poisoning.
Jessie gains footing in her dream to one day operate her own studio and soon finds herself in other Midwest towns, pursuing her profession. But even a job she loves can’t keep painful memories from seeping into her heart when the shadows of a forbidden love threaten to darken the portrait of her life.

About the Author:

Jane Kirkpatrick is a best-selling, award-winning author whose previous historical novels include All Together in One Place and Christy Award finalist A Tendering in the Storm. An international keynote speaker, she has earned regional and national recognition for her stories based on the lives of actual people, including the prestigious Wrangler Award from the Western Heritage Hall of Fame. Jane is a Wisconsin native who since 1974 has lived in Eastern Oregon, where she and her husband, Jerry, ranch 160 rugged acres.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book. Being that it was about my passion of photography, I was excited to read it. This is actually the second book in the series, but it does not take away from the story. I also like how the author includes a detail of characters in the front of the book, so you can see who and what everyone is. Along with a map, so you can kinda plot and picture it in your mind. I loved the vivid detail, as it really made you feel like you were right there. I really would recommend this book to any of my friends. Great read!

You can get it at Random House for $14.99

There is still TIME

Do to the fact I was unable to pick a winner on 4/31. Being sick and all... I am going to extend the Tickler Tags Review until 4/5... So be sure to swing by and enter!!!

The Germs have invaded us again!

After a really good weekend... both my girls came down sick. Not the greatest way to start off our school spring vacation. Seems to be a trend around here though... be it a holiday or vacation someone always ends up sick.

Just when we thought we might be on the up and up. Kids feeling better and such, I ended up getting their cold. A nasty fever, chills, coughing and such. Oh it was not pleasant.

So my apologies to being MIA on here lately. I hope to catch up with some posts tonight, or first thing tomorrow. I hope that everyone else has had a pretty good week. I'm hoping our Easter weekend can get a bit better.

What is everyone's big plans for the weekend???  Going away?? Special family traditions?
