FOR TODAY... Monday February 28th, 2011

Outside my window... It is very cold, and windy… We are suppose to get some nasty weather today, ::Sigh::

I am thinking… This is going to be another really long week.

I am thankful for…..help from my hubby, even though I may have to nag sometimes!

From the learning rooms…..… We are back on track!

Monkey Boy-  is doing great, and enjoying some of our new curriculum

Middle Monkey- is having her days, but doing really good.

Littlest Monkey- is doing fantastic with everything!

From the kitchen…. .Today we are having Fish Sandwiches, and Salad for dinner!

I am creating….    some puppets this week, for a community project for 4-H

I am wearing.. Jeans, t-shirt, and a sweatshirt! (I’m still not warm)

I am going..  to possibly be crazy by next week! Stay tuned for the outcome!

I am hearing…..my kiddo’s having some friendly chatter over breakfast this morning.

I am reading…waiting to get to the library to get some new Debbie MaComber books!

Around the house….  not much.. few loads of laundry to do, and a few loads to fold and put away!

One of my favorite things…  Letting the little things go, and staying in bed for half the day while cuddling and chatting with my little monkey’s!

A few plans for the rest of the week…. trip to the library, Eye Doctor, Dentist, Cub Scouts, Eye Doctor’s again, Co-op, Brownies, A Play, Daisy’s, and 4-H… Phew! I’m exhausted just thinking about it..

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing…

My beautiful girl!

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Did you know there is a National Day of pretty much everything in the universe? February 23 happens to be National Inconvenience Yourself Day...when was the last time you were inconvenienced?

National Inconvenience Day? That is crazy! I don’t really remember being Inconvenience lately. I guess most of the time I really don’t see it as being inconvenienced unless someone is just being selfish.

2. When a room in your house needs painting who does the job?

Usually me, or both of us… However, I really don’t find myself to be that great at painting. Seems like I do it enough though!

3. Are you friends with your cousins?

Some of them… I don’t really get to see them to often, and it seems the older we get the worse it is to make time for each other. We used to get together often as a big family… but not so much anymore.

4. Do you use an alarm clock? If yes-is it an actual alarm, music, or something else?

Yes, and it is an alarm. I don’t usually have to wait to hear it go off though. If I’m not super tired, my body automatically wakes me up before I need to be up!

5. What do you put ketchup on?

Really only meatloaf or hamburgers. Not a huge ketchup fan. My kids on the other hand use it on everything!

6. What smells make you nostalgic?

Not really sure I have any that I can think of off the top of my head… Maybe Apple pie, cause it reminds me of all the times we spent at my grandmothers house!

7. Have you heard about the high school English teacher recently suspended as a result of some things she wrote in her personal blog?

I might start a lot of controversy with this… but I feel she did nothing wrong. She voiced her opinion in a way that didn’t call anyone or the place out. She was only telling how things really are. Public schools are horrible now… Kids have no respect for their elders, and don’t like to do their work, and expect to just be passed. As long as it didn’t call out anyone, why should it matter? She doesn’t actually say it to these kids face… (and I’m sure they have called her worse to hers)

FOR TODAY... Monday February 21st, 2011

Outside my window... Very cold and windy today! I’m freezing!

I am thinking… I really hope to feel better tomorrow, or it could be a very long week!

I am thankful for…..helpful family that steps up when I’m down.

From the learning rooms…..… We are back on track!

Monkey Boy- so far has loved our new science curriculum!

Middle Monkey-  has started her new Grammar and did awesome and had no arguments this week about it!

Littlest Monkey- is doing fantastic with everything!

From the kitchen…. . Since I wasn’t feeling well, the girls had there favorite pasta, and my mom got me an Italian. Smile

I am creating….    another science project this week, and hopefully some fun with family and friends!

I am wearing.. Jeans, t-shirt, and a sweatshirt! (I’m still not warm)

I am going..  to take it easy this week, since we don’t have a lot of commitments this week. Next week is back to the grind!

I am hearing…..the girls whispering while they fall asleep! (I’m a bit late getting to this today)

I am reading…nothing at the moment… back to waiting for more books to come in.

Around the house….  we did some more rearranging and I am really liking the outcome. Organization is my friend!!

One of my favorite things…  Spending quality time with my family… happy that our new life allows plenty of that!

A few plans for the rest of the week…. trip to the library, Science Fair, Visit with friends and family, 4-H, and a Bake Sale this weekend.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing…

A trip down memory lane…hard to believe that was only 6 months ago! (there first stay in a hotel)

Looking for some extra love??

Not that I am looking for just random followers to have the numbers.. I just don’t know how else to get my blog out there… and since I have found some great blogs through these… every once and awhile I like to add mine to one. So this week, I’m checking out.

Five Question Friday 2/18

image[8]

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
Outfit no, Jeans..yes. They don’t get to dirty most of the time, so I wear them a second day… since we have a huge amount of laundry to begin with!

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
I would have to say… Seattle. I have heard it is really nice there, and I think it would be a great experience. But then again, I love to travel!

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Well, I’ve done both. We used to fly with them… My son has flown more times than most people. However, I have driven with them a lot lately, and they are pretty darn good.
So, that question would have some factors to it, to decide. If we wanted to get there quicker probably fly. (however, that is VERY expensive for 5 people)
Or if we wanted to stop and see sights along the way. I would have to say we would rather drive. More fun, and opportunities!

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
Going through all of the rooms, and getting rid of things we no longer  need, or want. Clean from top to bottom, and reorganize. So, it takes me a long time to get it done!

5. What is the best book you have ever read?
Honestly, most of Nicholas Sparks books are the best. I love anything by him, and would read them over and over again!

Volcano’s can be fun….

incase you didn’t know that. In hopes not to bore those of you that don’t have any interest in Home-schooling… I’m going to mention some of our fun stuff, here but will have it linked to my new blog strictly for Home-schooling… Incase you didn’t see my post about it, you can check out my new blog The Monkey School about our adventure in Home-schooling.

Well over the past couple days, we got daring… and made Paper Mache’ Volcano’s. Why you ask? Well we needed them for Co-op class… (which we missed last week due to Hunter being sick)

Here are a few pictures of our fun, but you can also check out more about our fun here and here. Be sure to stay tuned for the eruption in a couple weeks!

Little Monkey turns 6!!!

100_3099

6 wow!!

Where can the time have gone?? I mean, holy moly!

I remember the day she was born like yesterday… A tiny little monkey laid in my arms.

She hasn’t gotten much bigger and she still loves to cuddle.

Here are a few things about my newly 6 yr old!

  • Has her first two loose teeth!
  • Loves to run, dance, and twirl
  • Would wear a dress everyday if I let her!
  • Enjoys learning new things.. (great at math)
  • Loves the color pink
  • Loves puzzles
  • Thinks its cool to be the littlest in our family

She is a pure joy to have in my life!!! I would be lost without her… (even her whining hahaha)

I’m so very proud of you Little Monkey!! We love you!
